Baledon Meganisa March 23rd
Meganisa started foaling 6 weeks early only a head showing called the vet from Leahurst as were she was at winter keep was luckily only round the corner from Liverpool vetenary hospital the foal was dead but it was mispresented both front legs back and the foal was twisted on getting her to the hospital we first tried an epidural when that was not going to work we put her out and had to put her on her back with her hind legs higher than her head with the terrific expertise of Ellen who worked so hard to get the foal out we managed to save the mare after much struggling she had 4 days in the hospital and I am now pleased to report she is back out in the field recovering really very well and the hopes are she will be sufficiently recovered to cover later this summer but an internal will have to be done to find out all is well before we go ahead
So you can see why Glamour Puss's wins on the same day were tinged with saddness

Here we are the start of a new year wishing All a Happy and Successful one I am really looking forward to Dyfed Prophet's foals all the mares are looking very promising and as it is being such an open winter so far they have had no hay yet thank goodness and are looking exceptionally well I am looking forward to having Maestir Valiant to cover the mares as he ties in my old bloodlines well and he has been such a successful sire
We are looking forward to bringing out Glamour Puss and Modrwyd Aur and we are considering bringing out Glamour Puss's dam Miss Dinamite she is a lovely mare one everyone picks in the field when they come to see the ponies but she will only come out if she has a nice foal we are thinking of giving Hosanna a rest this year she has been shown a lot and deserves a summer off
The Maltese Falcon has just been sold he has gone to a lovely person who is very interested in getting into showing and he was such a showman with real hay look at me quality I was a bit sorry to see him go as I had hoped to use him on a couple of mares next year but better he can have the opportunity to be shown
The Real McCoy is still for sale we are showing him so anyone interested in a show colt he will fill the bill as his full sister Nynnwood Hosanna was youngstock champion at the 2006 Royal Welsh and his other full sister Heavenly Choice who did well showing as a yearling and 2 year is now home at 3 to be covered he has fantastic bone and is a real little Welshman with lovely breeding should make a very useful stallion and by a bay stallion should breed colour He has now been SOLD
I am looking forward to judging a number of shows this summer including doing the young handlers at the Royal Welsh 4 days at the Royal Welsh as the B's are as last year Mon and Wed so will stay down looking forward to that and since my knee op last year it is a treat to be able to judge again being mobile and able to drive
Lets hope the New Year lives up to our expectations I have so far 9 filly foals booked out of 8 mares!! so they are all going to have to be good and have fillies!! and one is going to have to have twins!! but as we know not all firm bookings materialize and some are willing to wait to 2009
Mario Lanza is going to Terry Wall this year to cover his mares as his stallion is going out on lease I hope he is a success for him as he has been at a lot of studs he has been to, he is a fabulous filly producer has not produced a colt for the last 5 years!! had 25+ fillies!! I hope he produces Ceri Fell fillies this year from his coverings last year

Photos taken yesterday 15th after a busy season what a stamp of mountain pony he has fabulous limbs and the most stunning head and has been a pleasure to have he has the most outstandingly kind temperament he will be returning to the Dyfed stud the end of November Thanks Diana for letting him come this season so looking forward to his foals in 2008
All the foals are now leaving for their new homes with their new owners wishing them all every success and hope to see some of them at the foal shows.

Many thanks to Mr Sandy Anderson of the Thistledown Stud for letting me have the opportunity of bringing the Revel Venetia bloodlines back into the stud through his outstanding sire Meastir Valiant who is a son of Baledon Viviacious who won a large class of yearling fillies at the Royal Welsh in 1980 and was twice champion at the Royal of England, Valiant is by the renowned Pendock Legend
Valiant has been an outstanding sire over the years of Royal Welsh winners amongst other major winning progeny both in hand and under saddle at the Fayre Oaks sale on Saturday 15th of September his daughter Thistledown Champagne out of Baledon Chanel sold for £1700 so I will look forward to putting Chanel's full sister in foal to him amongst all the other Baledon mares also the full sister to the Royal Welsh youngstock champion Nynnwood Hosanna, Baledon Heavenly Choice will hopefully have her first foal to him
