The Baledon Dinah Family

Baledon Dinah came to the stud as a free gift from Emrys Griffiths when Revel Venetia proved not to be in foal hence her name Dinah named after Emrys wife Dinah she was never shown but what a line of ponies she has produced both in hand and ridden and they have been an influence  on so many studs round the world even now to her great grand daughter being A champion at the 2007 Royal Welsh Winter Fair Miss Glamour Puss

Her first foal was Diamond who went to Australia and produced some lovely progeny then came the two Royal Welsh yearling winners Diadem Res youngstock and Res female champion in 77 followed by Diplomat Res Male Champion to Aston Superstar in 78 he was also Res Male champion to Brierwood Rocket at the Royal of England he was exported to Australia at the end of his yearling season where he has had a tremendous influence then came Diana (dam of the prize winning mare Bluehaven Dinah) and Dianthus then Dizzy who was a successful lead rein pony then Dilys who won the Royal of England as a yearling and was Res Champion then Dictator, Dimension, and Distinction all sold as colt foals then Dixie who has been  very successful in ridden classes then Discovery sire of the top priced mare at Hay last autumn then Dicon and last of the line Dinasty now in Scotland every single one of her progeny except for Dizzy were all by Revel Janus.

Baledon Diadem was probably her most illustrious daughter being so successful in the show ring and producing  a fantastic line of prize winners her first foal was Cracker Jack by Chelsea Cracker he was sold to the Maestir stud and sired a lot of winners for Ann Daunt before he went to Denmark then came Hy-Time a very successful yearling who died young next came Hy-Jack probably the most successful colt sold as a foal to Sheila Johnsey Wilcrick then Jinx who went to the U.S. as a foal and made a name as a sire out there then Hy-light who won the Royal Welsh and went to Holland next one of my favourites Hy-landia who was so successful showing and has been a really good producing brood mare having produced Mario Lanza The Lawyer and a mare I think a lot of Lanoushka Ceri Fell had a 2007 filly oand Justine Davies Popsters Stud has a lovely filly out of her which Ceri fell now has 2008s filly Sea Spray contracted tetanus at 5 weeks old she will never leave the stud and this years colt Sea Admiral (carries the blood of the 3 best mares I have had Revel Venetia Diadem And Coed Coch Dunos ) I hope he will make a future stallion following Hy-landia came Hy-Society who sired some nice foals for the Minsterly stud he then went on loan to the Kennedy's in Scotland and he produced the Royal Highland champion Mona Liza before he went to Holland were he has been a really good sire producing a lot of Kur progeny then came three colts Hy-lander Hy-wayman and Hy-line all sold as foals then came Hy-pericum who followed his brother to the Minsterly stud and sadly died young then came another of my favorites Miss Dinamite she produced Guy Fawkes, Brenda Lee by Fire Cracker and Model Miss by Criccieth Barcud all sold young then she went on lease to the Rosegarth stud and on her return she has had Miss Glamour Puss and Grey Kestrel who went to Scotland to be a future stallion in 2008 sher had the prize winning colt Brother Cadfael and in 2209 she had Masterpiece both these colts have gone to be future stallions following her came Miss Dior one of the top Priced foals at Fayre Oaks sold to the Heniarth stud were she produced two top class ridden ponies in Heniarth Doris Day and Davey Crocket before returning to fayre oaks and then being one of the top priced brood mares both Miss Dinamite and Miss Dior are by the very pretty stallion Weston Wyseworth  and last of all is Hy-Expectations a lovely big scopy mare who has had The Expert by Llynan Llewellyn The Expert is in Holland Extra Special and Excel both fillies sold to showing homes in 2008 she had Extravaganza who has not been out of the top 2 in 2009 and her 2009 foal is Exceptional and as her name say she is a stunning filly 

Baledon Dilys before she went to Holland had Hy-Hopes who went to the Tullibardine stud and has produced the prize winning filly Tullibardine Hy fashion and Hy-Class who has been a wonderful mare for the Rosemarch stud being dam of the lovely Royal of England champion Rosemarch Holly and the outstanding ridden ponies Rosemarch Heather Hemlock and Huckleberry another top priced pony in the Fayre Oaks Sale Rosemarch also had her prize winning full sister Hy-spirits

The Revel Venetia Family

This beautiful mare came to the stud in 1970 after the tragic electrocution of the studs foundation mare Gredington Penlas she was the most successful breeding mare her first foal was Victoria who had the successful stallion Kelcote Boisterous and Maestir Odette who was the sire of Maestir Odessey Supreme Sec A champion at the Welsh International in Holland 2009 then came Venus who produced Verity who was champion in the Royal Welsh for Jenny Richmond and Veronica who produced some very nice offspring in Valiant who went to the Oldhope stud and then went onto the Revel and then onto the Moorcock stud were he died  Veronique who went to the Walstead stud and has just died at 24 Venturer who went to Maesgwyn ( hence how Hyfryd came to Baledon for a while)and died as a young stallion before his full potential was realised  Valparaiso went to Holland to Arthur Sproken and sadly he died quite young Vencidor who was a premium stallion for some years now he is at the Highland stud of Kathleen James I have retained her last foal Verronika who is at present out on loan then Venetia had the 2 stunning prizewinning colts Viscount and Viking both went to Australia Viscount to Wendy MacDonald in Perth and Viking to Mavis McConville  at the Ski Centre!! at Mertleford then came Vivacious who went to the Meastir Stud as a yearling just after she won the Royal Welsh for me then was twice Royal of England Champion for the Maestir Stud she was dam of some stunning ponies  and the last was Tim Pritchard's Virginia who has foundered such a wonderful line of ponies for him I bought back a lovely bay filly from this line at  Fayre Oaks in 2009 she is out of a Virginia daughter sadly Venetia died quite young

Vivacious had a lot of good stock for Ann Daunt at Maestir one being the stallion Maestir Valiant who I am so delighted to have hadin 2008  the blood back into the stud I have kept a filly and a colt hopefully to make a future stallion  when Ann Daunt gave up the ponies a lot of the stud went to Sandy Anderson of the Thistledown stud and this line has been a big influence on his stud

Venetia was responsible for the most wonderful Royal Welsh in 1980 both Vivacious and Venus won their classes and Virginia was 2nd to Jubilation in the novice mare class and Veronica was 4th in a large foal class in the progeny class her 3 daughters all by Janus Vivacious Venus Virginia won the mare progeny class the sire group another group by Janus was 2nd and Venetia's group were both overall champion and res it was quite a day!!

This lovely mare came to Baledon on lease as a yearling after seeing her on a visit to Maesgwyn and knowing she was by Venturer and wanting the blood back in the stud she came and had some lovely fillies 4 of which are retained being Hyfryd is out of the Royal Welsh champion mare Measgwyn Highlight Hyfryd has produced the same wonderful line of prizewinners my lovely Champion  Hosanna who produced the Royal Welsh youngstock champion 2006 Nynnwood Hosanna and the full brother and sister Heavenly Choice and The Real Mccoy who hasd gone to Scotland to be a future stallion  Hanna was foaled when Hyfyd was just 2 she has produced some stunning foals Havanna and Halitia both in the U.S. Heidi went back to Maesgwyn and Happiness went to Ceri Fell Hosanna and her full sister Hallelujah Hanna and Hullaballo will all be retained and am looking forward to putting them to Maestir Valiant to bring the blood back stronger from the Venetia line as it was so successful

The Tiffwyl Megan Family

Tiffwyl Megan was bought at Hay Sale in 1990 after I had cut down my Sec B's at Fayre Oaks 3 sold for then record prices I wanted another A mare to invest in and Megan fitted the bill  she is the most lovely typical mare she has never been shown but has produced some outstanding prize winning stock both  in hand and under saddle  Mystic Melody and Majical Merlin  have been two of her very successful progeny and through her daughter Meganisa her grand daughter Melyn Aur in the U.S. has been to 20 shows as a yearling and two year old and is unbeaten ending up the last two seasons overall points champion of her area  Megans grandson Mozart has done well in the ring and has sired some lovely foals for the Moelyddview stud and Mayerling at Ceri Fells is turning into a lovely mare

Megan was bought before Tiffwyl Melodi became famous which was nice and so many of that family have gone on to do so well for their breeder Tony Tilley I feel lucky to have got Megan when I did

Megans line have wonderful heads and her colour  comes through this is a very quality line it is also proving itself as a good line to breed on from her colts are producing stock of outstanding type

The Coed Coch Dunos Family

 Coed Coch Dunos came as my 21st birthday present with Gredington Blodyn and what a pair they turned out to be both in the ring and as breeding mares Dunos was the most elegant pony with the most beautiful head and front her one fault she produced too many colts!! but so many of them went on to produce such good stock for so many stud Pipkin went to the Lippens stud Pippit went to Holland and was one of the founding sires out there followed by Jeremiah who did so well for Harold Zoet Jolyon went to the Sunwillow stud Jonathon foundered a dynasty of ponies for the Swinford Stud Jacob went to Germany One of her few fillies Chelsea Model went to the Frongoch stud and has been a real influence on their ponies

Her daughter that served me well was Jubilation winning the Royal Welsh on 3 occasions and 2nd once and eventually being Female Champion at both the Royal of England  and the Royal Welsh  Jubilation produced her 3 best progeny to Weston Wyseworth being the lovely mare I have retained Worthwhile and the lovely mare Sandy Anderson has a Thistledown Chanel and Wyseman who has proved his worth as a stallion, Worthwhile has produced some very nice stock so the line is still going strong after all these years the only trouble with this family they are not the best of filly producers it took Dunos 13 years to have Jubilation!! and Jubilation took almost as long to get Worthwhile hence the names!!

Patience came to the stud as a swap for a service to Janus her dam Hisland Silver Pin was full sister to Hisland Hyderus she used to visit him every year from the Dolrhedyn stud and that stud has a lot of the line left to this day she has produced  some good breeding stock for the Moelyddview who had 3 of her daughters in Etertnity (who sadly died young) London Pride and Moelyddview Sarah Reward she has also produced a colt and a filly for Lindsey and her filly in Ireland Zelina is quite stunning hopefully this year she will return  to be covered by Valiant
